The race, organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC), started at Cowes (Isle of Wight, England) on Saturday the 1st of August for the 50nm race around the Isle of Wight (IOW). A pleasing SW F4-5 filled competitors sails as they tacked up to The Needles.
